Antique Crutches
We have upgraded the crutches only by attaching pathetically uncomfortable padding to the armpit section and the hand section. We have come a long way, haven't we?

Goodbye Fiberglass Cast, Hello Air Cast

Today, after 10 weeks, I returned to the Dr's office. My 4th cast was sawed off. I went to the x-ray clinic, had x-rays of my ankle, returned to the Dr's office and told the good news: NO MORE FIBERGLASS CAST! Yipee! Goodbye Old Cast, Hello Walking Cast. $130 later and I can walk using both legs now using my crutches for short distances. I ran some errands with a friend after the appointment and I used my crutches and walked for most of it-except for Walmart-that would have been too much. I return to the Dr.'s in 2 weeks, to see if I am ready to start attending a physiotherapy clinic. My ankle/leg is a bit uncomfortable...so I'm sure ice packs will become my friends again. What I do have to do is put on 2 creams-one for my dry skin and one as an anti-inflammatory cream-I'm still quite swollen from my lower calf down to my toes. I also have to do my own version of physio-so I use my foot and draw the alphabet. It is harder than it sounds. Today was a Good Day!
